Islamabad- 4th July, 2023 – In an unprecedented effort to elevate girls’ education in Pakistan, Anthro Insights’ Malala Fund Team has joined hands with the office of Ms. Wajiha Qamar, the Ambassador for Girls’ Education at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. The collaboration is set to launch a dedicated website that offers one-window access to comprehensive data on girls’ education across Pakistan.
The website will feature a detailed portal presenting a range of crucial information:
- Country-wise Data on Girls Enrolled in Schools: A snapshot of progress made and regions that need more concentrated efforts.
- An Updated Tally of Girls’ Schools: A transparent view of the availability and accessibility of dedicated educational facilities for girls countrywide.
- Detailed Mapping of Education Laws: Promoting awareness of the legal protections and rights relating to girls’ education.
- Details on Scholarships for Girls: Offering valuable guidance for deserving students and their families.
- Opportunities for Female Entrepreneurs: Encouraging and empowering young women to contribute to the country’s economy.
This initiative hinges on strong inter-provincial coordination. A proposal has been put forth to appoint focal persons in each province responsible for sharing relevant data on girls’ education and associated grants.
The innovative portal is expected to be a valuable resource for educators, policymakers, stakeholders, and the public. In addition to promoting transparency and accountability, it signifies a bold stride towards fulfilling the rights under Article 25-A of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
